Zen Garden Sink

Designer creates a sink that uses wasted water to grow a plant
Made of polished stained concrete, the Zen Garden Sink has a channel that allows the water used while washing your hands to water a plant. Created by young Montreal designer Jean-Michel Gauvreau the sink comes in single or double basin model. The sink is designed in a way you won't get your plants all soapy. There is a main drain at the bottom of the basin for soapy grime. Your little plant friend just gets whatever you choose to dole out.

Wake - Scrap To Stylish Stump

The furniture is made of relatively small pieces of scrap timber cut to extremely accurate sizes and then glued together in a matrix to a block. The blocks Granted, these adorable pieces are more like postmodernist versions of real tree stumps. But they've got the right idea about recycling wood scraps that would otherwise be discarded, and transforming them into down-to-earth yet sleek furniture that could grace any tastefully decorated living space.

VouwWow -The Sustainable seat

Respecting Michelle Thonet‘s original idea of furniture that could easily be disassembled for optimizing space during transportation, Dutch studio Nuy of NOORT created this angular chair made from recycled honeycomb cardboard. Light, affordable and recycled, this sustainable seat packs flat to ship and can be set up in a snap without any tools, glue or screws.
'VouwWow' chair is made from a single piece of recyclable honeycomb cardboard and is produced with minimal waste. The design comes in response to the contemporary notion of sustainable materials, efficient transport and easy storage. This foldable chair was awarded the 2009 Thonet Mart Stam Prize for an innovative seat design that adapts to current times without losing the brand’s original concept.

Brilliant Paper Pulp Task Lamp - Totally Recyclable

Made from a single recycled paper cone, the Pulp Task Lamp designed to have as little environmental impact as possible. It consists of locally sourced biodegradable post-consumer cardboard and paper, which are mashed to a pulp and then shaped into a conic mold and left to dry. The lamp’s shade is designed with a thicker spine and rounded borders to make it stronger and more durable. The electrical parts are mainly made from aluminum and copper, two materials that can be easily recycled once the lamp has reached the end of its life cycle.

Lighting takes a New Approach

Even though some argue that the CFL bulb is "so 2008" and that it's high time we move onto LEDs, a CFL is still a much wiser choice than the now antiquated incandescent. Belarusian industrial design firm Solovyovdesign has come up with an aesthetic that makes this sentiment even more obvious: the CFL bulb as human brain. Playing off of the old good idea as lightbulb over your head, the conceptual design highlights the CFL as a smart choice for personal lighting. The bulb is the same size as any other CFL. One can only hope they'll come up with something equally as clever when LEDs take over!

The Green Palette

If you want to go green, one of the ways is to make an eco-friendly interior design that will be absolutely recyclable and also unharmfulWhen you get tired of polluted environment the home is your ultimate getaway so why not create an eco-friendly interior design that will not harm your health in any way and won’t harm environment when some of its contents get discarded?
In order to create an eco-friendly interior design the natural and organic materials must be used. Ditch particleboard, chromed metal, and plastiAc. You might spend more money on creating an eco-friednly interior design but the natural materials are also very durable and always good.
Eco-friendly wall coverings and paint as well as river rocks used as wall covering will help you decorate the walls. The walls can also be covered with wood panels, ceramic tile or cork. For ceiling opt for wood panels or beams combined with whitewashed or suspended ceiling. As for the flooring, it can be done in stone or wooden parquet made from European woods, bamboo or cork. The combination of lighter and darker woods can give an opportunity to play with the shades and make patterns.

Naturally your furniture should be made of natural woods. The chairs and tables made of wood blocks and stone table tops from natural stone or marble can also add a touch of wilderness to your home. Pure nature around is almost impossible unless you are ready to give up all of the technology but even choosing among the hi-tech items look for less harmful like bioethanol fireplaces.
Interior accessories should also be eco-friendly especially because they get discarded more often than the wall or floor coverings and furniture. Glass or clay vases, rocks, wicker baskets, old chests and dry leaves and tree branches from your yard can be a great addition to your home decor. Recycling old furniture made of natural materials is also a good budget-saving idea.
Well, it’s obvious that plants are the part of nature so surrounding yourself with ones will also add up to youreco-friendly interior design. Be sure, though, you have enough time to look after them and if not then buy low-maintenance plants.
